Good Morning Jaguars!

We will be looking at your double flap picture cards during the Morning Meet this morning! I am so excited to see them.

Have a great day!

Love,

Ms. McDevitt

Daily Schedule

8:30

Go to the Morning Meeting

(Click the link to attend. Then, click “Join” and “Allow Meet to use camera and microphone.”)

Read the Morning Message (above)

8:40

Reading Minilesson

Look in the envelope you got in the mail from me.

You will find some birthday card making supplies and stamped envelopes. Make and send them. (Please try to send them today so they arrive in time.)

If you spend a long time on this activity, then I think you should shorten the rest of Reading Workshop. (I would just do Read to Self or Read to Someone Else.) If you really enjoy making the cards, it would be just fine to skip spelling for the day and make some more cards for other people you know. They don’t have to be birthday cards!

8:45

Read to Self

You should read from your book bag for 15 minutes. More is better, if you want to do more!

Give yourself two checks if you earned them!.

9:00 - 9:45

Choose your own adventure!

You can do one choice the whole time or more. About 45 minutes of focused work would be perfect. The choices are below (and you can always do extra Read to Self).

12:15

Math

Get out that deck of cards! I have a new game for you. It is called “Give Me 10.” Directions are linked here.

Challenge: Play “Give me 20.” What rules will work best? Make them up and try it!

If for some reason you have difficulty accessing the link, play “Make 10 Go Fish” instead. You could also play “Make 20 Go Fish.”

To play Make 10 Go Fish

This is played with all the same rules as Go Fish, but instead of making matched pairs, a player must make pairs that make 10. (This works best if you remove the Kings, Queens, Jacks and tens from the deck, or you can simply declare them all worth ten and if you get one, you don’t have to make a pair.)

Optional

If you want Choice Time on the computer, go to the Wibki.
