If you don’t have a printer, you can watch The Lorax instead. It’s okay if you want to do both! | 9:45 | Snack Go outside for an exercise break!
When you finish, you can do a mindfulness activity if you want to. | 10:15 | Spelling Glue your sort. Have an adult or older sibling check it with you. Video how-to |
12:15 | Math Today we will work on writing equations with numbers up to 100. By the end of the lesson, you will need to decide what challenge you want to try!
Part 1: Get your materials Make or print this spinner. You can print it out or draw one that looks just like it. (Sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to insert a picture of it. You will need to click the link to see it and draw your own or print it out.) Pick what other math tool you will use to play. You can use your ten frames, your bundles, or dimes and pennies.
Part 2: Play a warm up round First partner builds a number from 0-100 using a math tool. Second partner spins and says what the answer is. Repeat until each partner has gone three times.
Part 3: Choose one or more of the challenges. You can try more than one challenge at a time! Challenge 1: Play again, but now write the equation each time. Challenge 2: Instead of building the number, the first partner writes the number. The game is way faster this way. Challenge 3: Make your own spinner...Ten more/ten less, five more/five less, whatever you want! Challenge 4: Set a time limit for each round like we did with Build and Count. Challenge 5: Play with money...dimes and pennies! (Or even dollars!!!)
Part 4: Send me a picture of your challenge work Take a picture using a phone or chromebook and send it to my email. You could also write me an email that tells me what you did.
