Good Morning Jaguars!

Today is Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

Here are all the words I could think of that rhymed with May.

may

say

day

lay

play

hay

ray

yay

way

clay

bay

bray (the noise a donkey makes)

hooray

away

It’s so useful to be able to read words that rhyme with May. They all have an ay in them.

Have a great day!

Love,

Ms. McDevitt

Choose your own adventure!

You can do one choice the whole time or more. Depending on what works for your family, you should work for somewhere between 15 and 45 minutes. The choices are below (and you can always do extra Read to Self).

Math

Today we will be building and counting numbers to 120.

Part 1: Get your materials

You will need the ten frames you made yesterday, and about 10 small objects (dried beans, cheerios, bingo counters, etc.).

Part 2: Play the game!

Watch the video to see how to play the partner game.

Here are written instructions.

This is a partner game. You will want a timer (or you can use the timer at this link - click the square sort of thing with only corners and no sides at the bottom to make it take up the whole screen).

  1. The first player builds a number. The other player counts it. If the counter can count the number in less than 5 seconds, the counter gets a point!

  2. The person who counted in the first round now builds a number. The other player counts it. If you can count the number in less than 5 seconds, you get a point!

  3. First person to ten points wins!

  4. You can change the length of time to count, or the number of points needed to win, if you need to.

  5. Challenge option: write an equation that represents each number! (You might need to change the time to ten seconds if you do this.)

Optional

Choice Time!

If you want Choice Time on the computer, go to the Wibki.

Clean up your work area.

In our classroom, we all work together to make sure it’s clean and nice at the end of the day. Is there anything you can do at home to help you like you do in our classroom?
