Good Morning Jaguars! Today is Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
We did not get to have Magazine Monday because yesterday was Memorial Day. To make up for it, you can have “Two-Article Tuesday” or just read one article...it’s up to you!
We will also be learning about Green Up Day this week.
Love, Ms. McDevitt
Daily Schedule 8:30 | Go to the Morning Meeting! (Click the link to attend. Then, click “Join” and “Allow Meet to use camera and microphone.”)
Read the Morning Message (above) | 8:40 | Reading Minilesson Here are two videos to help you read a new magazine. You can choose to watch one or both. It is fine to only watch one, but I know that I always want to read a lot of a new magazine all at once!
If you want to read two articles, watch one video and read that article. Then watch the second video and read the second article.
Meet a River Otter Hot Rocks | 8:45 | Read to Self You should read from your book bag for 15 minutes. More is better, if you want to do more! Give yourself two checks if you earned them!.

9:00 - 9:45 | We will be learning about Green Up Day instead of our usual activities. If you don’t have a grownup who can help you with these special activities, you can do Read to Someone Else, RAZ Kids, or Sight Words instead. If you want to learn about Green Up Day and do your regular activities, too, that is great! Go for it.
Part 1: Green Up Day is May 30th! It is a very special Vermont tradition. Watch these videos with a parent or caregiver to learn more. 2018 Green Up Day Ad 2017 Green Up Day Ad
Part 2: With a parent or caregiver, answer these questions. What do these videos have in common? What is the same about them? What is different about these videos?
| 9:45 | Snack Go outside for an exercise break!
When you finish, you can do a mindfulness activity if you want to. | 10:15 | Spelling Cut your new sort. Have an adult or older sibling check it with you. Video how-to (for how to check your sort -- note that your child’s sort will not be glued down yet, but loose on the table) |
12:15 | Math Today, we will do a little review of building numbers up to 120, and then do a little practice in your math packet.
Part 1: Play an online place value game Go to https://www.abcya.com/games/base_ten_fun. Choose a unit of 10. Play "Read and make" or "Listen and Make," then play "Count and Write." (If you like playing with units of 10, you can try units of 100 for a challenge! Try units of 10 first, though.) Part 2: Complete a math page. In your math packet, complete one or more pages. You can do the pages in any order.
If you can’t find your packet, you can print a new one if you click this link.
If you need an answer key to check your work, click this link. You will need to find the correct page in the PDF.

In our classroom, we all work together to make sure it’s clean and nice at the end of the day. Is there anything you can do at home to help you like you do in our classroom? |
