Hello Marching Marbles!

Today is Wednesday, April 1st 2020. Happy April Fool’s Day!

It is the 126th day of school!

Miss Arista has a website. Go to it now to see if you can find your assignments from her. (Hint: Find the Hello in the top right corner and hover your cursor arrow over it.)

Have a great day!

Daily Schedule

Read the Morning Message (above)

Reading Minilesson

Watch the video and complete the activity.

Read to Self

You should read from your book bag for 15 minutes or more.

Give yourself two checks if you earned them!.

Video how-to

Sight word work

You should do 2 pages (or 20 minutes of focused work) in your sight word folder. Be sure to put the short date on the page.

Parents, students should be quite familiar with this activity. Their words should be written in lower case and spelled correctly. They have been taught that if they can’t read the word, they need to ask someone to read it to them at the beginning of the page. Some of them need reminders about this.

You Choose: Read to Someone Else or RAZ kids

If you are reading to someone else, you should read aloud to them for 15 minutes or more. If you want to buddy read with them, that’s okay, but you need to EEKK and TTR! (Sit Elbow to Elbow, Knee to Knee and Take Turns Reading!)

If you are doing RAZ Kids, you should listen to and read the same book. Then, listen to and read the next book in your account. You do not have to take the quiz, but you can if you want to! It will earn you more stars.

Parents, if your child has questions in their quiz that require typed answers, he or she should skip that question. They should only be doing the multiple choice questions.

Go outside for an exercise break!

Word work

Sort and write your sort.

How to write your sort

Work in your letter formation book for 20 minutes. If you do not have a letter formation book, you could do RAZ Kids, Read to Self, or get ahead on Health or Math so you have more time for Art.

Parents, if you’re confused about the lines, here’s a humorous helpful video.

Here’s a less funny video that is also helpful.

Parents, the dot on the page indicates where the letter should start. Letters are formed from the top. Please keep an eye out during this activity!

If you would like to do a yoga or meditation activity, Ms. Treadwell recommends these:

Squish the Fish (you watched this in kindergarten!)

Guided Meditation

Play the math games linked on the wibki for today (under “Favorites,” click the date) and complete today’s lesson packet. It is on the top in your blue math folder. (It should say lesson 8 at the very bottom.) Put it back on the Done side when you are finished.

Choice Time!

If you want Choice Time, go to the Wibki.

If you would like to do PE, go to this link from Mr. Davis..

If you would like to do Music, go to Mrs. Cloutier’s Music site.

If you want to have STEAM time like at the Makerspace, click here.

If you would like to do Art, go to Miss Arista’s website.

You can be finished for the day if you want.

If you want to have Choice Time, then go to the wibki. Under “Favorites” click on “Enrichment.” If you’ve done a lot of computer choice time already, then two more good choices would be to go play outside or to ask a parent for a helping or cleaning chore.

Closing Circle

Clean up your work area.

Don’t forget -- brush your teeth! Mrs. Treadwell says it’s so important!
