Good Morning Jaguars!
It is Wednesday, April 8, 2020.
Today, we have health. Mrs. Treadwell sent two videos for you! They are in the plans for after Math.
Have a great day!
Love, Ms. McDevitt
Daily Schedule 8:30 | Go to the Morning Meeting! (Click the link to attend. Then, click “Join” and “Allow Meet to use camera and microphone.”)
Read the Morning Message (above) | 8:40 | Reading Minilesson Watch the video and complete the activity.
If you want to watch the story about Jack and the Beanstalk, here is one version.
Parent note: I don’t love the animation in this video, and it has ads, but it was the best version of the story I could find on Youtube. If you have a version of Jack and the Beanstalk at home and would rather read that to your child, feel free to do so. I’ve also linked two versions below that you could read and explore with your child instead of watching the video. (It is interesting to note the publication dates - that would be a mini history lesson in itself!)
https://americanliterature.com/childrens-stories/jack-and-the-beanstalk (A short version you could read aloud with illustrations from 1918.) http://hockliffe.dmu.ac.uk/items/0019.html (The first known printed edition of the tale, from 1807.) | 8:45 | Read to Self You should read from your book bag for 15 minutes. More is better, if you want to do more! Give yourself two checks if you earned them!.
Video how-to |
9:00 - 9:45 | Choose your own adventure! You can do one choice the whole time or more. About 45 minutes of focused work would be perfect. The choices are below (and you can always do extra Read to Self). If you chose to spend a long time on Jack and the Beanstalk, you can spend less time on this. | Sight Words
Video how-to | Read to Someone Else
| RAZ Kids | Handwriting book
| 9:45 | Snack Go outside for an exercise break!
When you finish, you can do a mindfulness activity if you want to. |
