Wibki: all our webpages in one place!

Good Morning Marching Marbles!

Today is Wednesday, March 25th, 2020.

It is the 121st day of school!

At school, sometimes we have Choice Time. At home, you might have different choices, but you still have Choice Time.

Music, PE, Art, Spanish, and the Makerspace are some different choices. On the wibki, you can find some fun things under “Enrichment.” Remember that this afternoon!

Click here for a message from Miss Arista.

Have a great day!

Ms. McDevitt

Daily Schedule

Read the Morning Message (above)

Read to Self

You should read from your book bag for 15 minutes or more.

Give yourself two checks if you earned them!.

Video how-to

Sight word work

You should do 2 pages (or 20 minutes of focused work) in your sight word folder. Be sure to put the short date on the page.

Parents, students should be quite familiar with this activity. Their words should be written in lower case and spelled correctly. They have been taught that if they can’t read the word, they need to ask someone to read it to them at the beginning of the page. Some of them need reminders about this.

You Choose: Read to Someone Else or RAZ kids

If you are reading to someone else, you should read aloud to them for 15 minutes or more. If you want to buddy read with them, that’s okay, but you need to EEKK and TTR! (Sit Elbow to Elbow, Knee to Knee and Take Turns Reading!)

If you are doing RAZ Kids, you should listen to and read the same book. Then, listen to and read the next book in your account. You do not have to take the quiz, but you can if you want to! It will earn you more stars.

Parents, if your child has questions in their quiz that require typed answers, he or she should skip that question. They should only be doing the multiple choice questions.

Go outside for an exercise break!

Word work

Sort and write your sort.

Challenge for early finishers: In your bookbag or from other places around your house, find 5 or words. Write them on a post-it if you think they could go into this sort. We’ll talk about them when I call you!

How to write your sort

Work in your letter formation book for 20 minutes. If you do not have a letter formation book, you should do RAZ Kids, Read to Self, or get ahead on Math so you have more time for Art.

Parents, if you’re confused about the lines, here’s a humorous helpful video.

Here’s a less funny video that is also helpful.

Parents, the dot on the page indicates where the letter should start. Letters are formed from the top. Please keep an eye out during this activity!

Play the math games linked on the wibki for today (under “Favorites,” click the date) and complete today’s lesson packet. It is on the top in your blue math folder. (It should say lesson 3 at the very bottom.) Put it back on the Done side when you are finished.

Double Ten Frame Sums to 20:

(I like to play with the patterned arrangements option, but you can try both!)

Adding Number to 20:

Choice Time!

If you want Choice Time, go to the Wibki.

If you would like do PE, look in your folder from Mr. Davis.

If you would like to do Music, go to Mrs. Cloutier’s Music site.

If you would like to do Art, click here for your assignment from Miss Arista.

If you finish your art assignment and want to share, click here for directions to share with Miss Arista. You will probably need an adult’s help.

Closing Circle

This morning, were your materials ready for you?

Take a few minutes to make sure everything is neat and put away.

Do you need to plug in your chromebook?

Now you will be able to get started right away in the morning!
