JES
has a total annual operating budget of about $3.5 million, consisting
of a core general fund operating budget of about $2.5 million (including
food service revenue/expenses), $.3 million in construction bond debt
service, and about $.6 million in special purpose state and federal
grants. As a town with relatively high poverty (more than 60% of our
students are eligible for the federal meals program), Johnson is an Act
60/68 "receiving town", meaning that our school receives more from the
State Education Fund than the town pays in state property taxes.
