Hello, I'm Ms. Berry. I am the special educator for kiddos in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade! We have started to get working on both reading and math. In reading class, we are working on a few different things (depending on grade level) in 2nd grade: We are beginning to add onto our last skill of beginning sound and looking at vowel sounds. It can be tricky to match the sound for e and i. I use the word itch for the key word for i. I also use the key word ed for e. We are also working on sight words. Here is a great link for sight words games to play at home: in 3rd grade: We are practicing consonant clusters as well as vowel teams. we use the prompt " Two vowels going walking.. the first one does the talking.." In 4th grade: We are currently working on vowel teams along with consonant clusters along with finding the probelm in the story. We will begin to start using graphic organizers to help us find all the 'golden nuggets' in the story On the right, there are some links to interactive websites that kiddos can access. If you are trying to access Nessy and you're unable to find your kiddos name, please let me know. updated 1/2/2018!!! | Reading: Technology: As each student is given a chromebook to work with, we will start using the program read and write. This program will allow your student to hear what they have written on the screen. | Math: in 2nd grade: We are working on counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s to 100. We are also working on ways to make 10 using number bonds. |
